Numbers Don't Lie
According to Nexgenwars.com, a site updated frequently that is dedicated to keeping track of sales figures between Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo's next-generation consoles and how much of the market share they have, Nintendo's Wii has gained a significant lead over Sony's PS3. Specifically, the site lists 716,127 consoles sold compared to Sony which has sold about 269,455. Microsoft, having launched their console last year dominates with over 7,000,000 consoles sold and controls the market share.
Though many nay-sayers question the validity of these numbers (even a disclaimer below says the numbers are estimates based on data they've researched), it's quite possible that with only 500,000 PS3's in the world and around a million Wii's, all of which being sold out, Nintendo might gain it's once lost title of top of the video game ladder, should their production hold up, unlike Sony which has had many troubles in making PS3's. Conversely, though, if all the PS3's and Wii's have been sold out everywhere, how come Sony's number isn't closer to 500,000?
