More PS3 Peripheral Info.

Adding to the original press release concerning the new Six-Axis controller, Sony has also dropped new information concerning gadgets for the PS3 console.

Hoping to capture the success of wireless controllers Microsoft and Nintendo previously had, Sony will launch its own wireless controller. The new controller will hit Japan by November 11 with a price tag of 5,000 yen (around $40 in U.S. currency).

A remote has also been announced for the PS3. Named the BD Remote Controller, this item will apparently use Bluetooth technology to interact with one's PS3 whether for gaming or watching Blu-Ray films. At 3,600 yen it's priced a bit cheaper than the controller, however, the BD remote will not launch until a month after the controller in December.

Even cheaper at 1,500 yen is the memory card reader. Connecting to the PS3 via a USB port, the card reader can take saved game information from both PS2 and regular PS games and store them onto the hard drive of the PS3. This handy device will also debut on November 11, the same date given for the Six-Axis controller.
