Wii Ethernet Kit

So the Wii platform includes built in Wi-Fi functionality out of the box... and without a wireless connection, Wii users can't play online? WRONG! Nintendo has announced that they will provide and sell an Ethernet Kit for Wii, which will allow gamers without access to a wireless connection a method to play online via a standard Ethernet cable. This will allow as many Wii users online as possible. The good news is that folks who already own Nintendo's Wi-Fi USB Connector will still be able to use it, as it will also interface with Wii. The bad news, this guy right here doesn't own that right now.

There's really no surprise here with the Ethernet Kit, I'm just glad it's out in the open now, putting to rest many delusional gamers who though they would be stranded. Official pricing and availability is yet to be determined, though we'll be sure to keep you updated as the information is leaked through the pipes.

I can tell you something about official pricing, it will be overpriced.

Worth it to buy a cheapo wireless router, which sometimes cost as little as $10 after rebate.
