70Gig Hard Drive for 360?

Take a look at the photo below, snapped yesterday from the floor of an XBox Live event. If my eyes do not deceive me, that looks like a 70Gig Hard Drive. Microsoft hasn't officially let the cat out of the bagel, but it looks official enough. Could be something specifically created for the event, though it seems to be a standard 360. Could be the real deal Holyfield. We'll see.

And Now for Some Obvious News: Crysis is Beautiful

Take a look at these new comparison screens straight from this Crysis website. This game will be worth upgrading your computer for.

Crysis was recently delayed until Q1 of 2007. It looks as though this game will be well worth the wait.

Heatseeker on Wii - First Screens!

Codemasters has just announced its upcoming aerial combat title, Heatseeker, which will debut on Wii, PS2, and PSP come March 2007. In its joint development by Codemasters and IR Gurus (who brought us Heroes of the Pacific), Heatseeker is designed to be an intense lock-on and shake off experience, featuring a stunning collection of current and upcoming military fighter jets, and is said to "reinvent missile combat to give gamers a massive rush of destruction".

"If you like fast and furious action, and blowing everything in sight to bits, then Heatseeker is a dream come true. Expect the greatest military aircraft armed to the teeth with the latest hardware, big explosions, great smoke trails, and gung-ho heroics," says Andrew Wenseley, senior producer of Heatseeker.

Gamers Outlook has some of the first screens available for this title, which are of course included below. For more specifics on this title, please see Codemasters for the official press release.

Getting Touchy Feely w/ Handhelds

No... not that you sick little bastards. I'm talking about some pictures of some hottie sporting a Nintendo DS Lite, Game Boy Advance, and an old school Game Boy. These came from the UK based website T3 in their girl of the week special. I've gotta say, this is pretty damn sexy... I think I'm in love.

PSP GPS Revealed

Sony has revealed its GPS receiver for the PSP during the Tokyo Games Show, which seems to be primarily focused in the Japanese market. The titles which will support this crafty little devise are Minna no Golf-Jou (a spin-off of Hot Shots Golf), Metal Gear Solid (using the device to search for and recruit soldiers), Planetarium Creator Ohira Takayuki Kanshuu: Home Star Portable (a game that tells players about the stars above... touching, really...) and Navigation Stop (who cares what it does, it's based on Japanese roads).

Personally I find the devise to be interesting enough, though I'm a little pissed off that I haven't seen so much as a drop of milk about US plans. I could be wrong, but these games don't really seem cut out for our market (other than MGS, mind you). I'm going to put on my Samurai gear now. Whatever...

Gamers Outlook does not apologize for its lack in enthusiasm.

Far Cry on Wii: First Screens!

UbiSoft is bringing the Far Cry series to Nintendo Wii. Details are sketchy at this point, and it is not known if this will be a port of Far Cry Evolution or not. Only time will tell, for now, the first screen shots show it all.

DS Headset Revealed

Nintendo has revealed a headset for the Nintendo DS, even though currently only one game (Metroid Prime Hunters) would truly support it. At the moment no release details for the US have been discussed, though I'm sure at some point we'll find out. Interesting to assume there are more online chat enabled games coming in the near future to DS? Who knows... it looks sweet enough though.

Wii Packaging

Following all the latest release news, I stumbled upon something. I'm not sure how official this is, but it looks pretty solid to me. I believe it could be the real deal Holyfield. Why else would USA Today have it.

UbiSoft's Wii Wheel

You know, I told you support for Wii is going to be piling up by the assload. If you haven't noticed with previous announcements by UbiSoft, the company supports the new system in it's entirety. The latest and greatest from Ubi Soft is not the announcement of Splinter Cell: Double Agent (with new lock picking features), but in fact, a new peripheral designed to work in unison with the Wii's unique new remote.
The Wii remote will fit horizontally into the wheel, leaving all buttons accessible. Tilting the wheel will tilt the remote, and this is essentially how it is designed to work. The wheel itself will come packaged with Ubisoft's upcoming GT Pro Series and Monster 4x4: World Circuit games. Early reports are indicating that this new wheel will work with a variety of other games, including the racing portion's of Wii's Spongebob game, Excite Truck, and even the upcoming Cars.

Associate Producer of the GT Pro Series, Tats Myoio, spoke about how the wheel will add to the total gaming experience on Wii. "When the features and specs of the Wii controller were announced, I'm sure everybody saw the obvious potential for a racing game for the Nintendo Wii by using the remote as a virtual steering wheel. However, once we slapped that remote to an actual steering wheel, the gameplay and driving feel multiplied and we knew that we had to bundle a wheel so everybody can enjoy the same experience we had. GT Pro Series for the Wii will be like no other racing game that gamers have experienced before."

This is good news, and I'll say it again... the support will be over whelming for Wii. I'm not jumping on the band wagon, just stating the obvious! Look for GT Pro Series and other titles mentioned in this article near Wii's expected launch (soon!)

iPod Gaming in the Works

Almost everyone has an iPod. If you don't, you will... it's inevitable. In a stunning move announced today by Apple's Steve Jobs, the sixth-generation of iPod will support, you guessed it, video games!

You will be able to purchase games via iTunes for a bitter old price of $4.99, coming very soon. Expect to see quite a few classic titles configured for the iPod's scroll-wheel interface. Thus far Apple's new games division has announced Bejeweled, Mahjong, PacMan and Tetris. If you don't have a new sixth-generation iPod, fear not, the upcoming games are slated to work on older "5G" models as well. So you can put your tissue box away and wipe off that tear drop there homeslice, it's all good.

Kudos goes to Engadget for the coverage photos. You're my hero.
