UbiSoft's Wii Wheel

You know, I told you support for Wii is going to be piling up by the assload. If you haven't noticed with previous announcements by UbiSoft, the company supports the new system in it's entirety. The latest and greatest from Ubi Soft is not the announcement of Splinter Cell: Double Agent (with new lock picking features), but in fact, a new peripheral designed to work in unison with the Wii's unique new remote.
The Wii remote will fit horizontally into the wheel, leaving all buttons accessible. Tilting the wheel will tilt the remote, and this is essentially how it is designed to work. The wheel itself will come packaged with Ubisoft's upcoming GT Pro Series and Monster 4x4: World Circuit games. Early reports are indicating that this new wheel will work with a variety of other games, including the racing portion's of Wii's Spongebob game, Excite Truck, and even the upcoming Cars.

Associate Producer of the GT Pro Series, Tats Myoio, spoke about how the wheel will add to the total gaming experience on Wii. "When the features and specs of the Wii controller were announced, I'm sure everybody saw the obvious potential for a racing game for the Nintendo Wii by using the remote as a virtual steering wheel. However, once we slapped that remote to an actual steering wheel, the gameplay and driving feel multiplied and we knew that we had to bundle a wheel so everybody can enjoy the same experience we had. GT Pro Series for the Wii will be like no other racing game that gamers have experienced before."

This is good news, and I'll say it again... the support will be over whelming for Wii. I'm not jumping on the band wagon, just stating the obvious! Look for GT Pro Series and other titles mentioned in this article near Wii's expected launch (soon!)
