Sony Responds to Controller Concerns
Updating a recently posted story, Sony has replied to calm fears that a new controller purchase would be required each time a lithium battery dies.
A representative told GamesIndustry.biz, "This is a purely speculative story and is largely untrue. The latest generation of Lithium Polymer batteries hardly suffer any memory effect at all, so it'll be many years before there's any degradation in terms of battery performance."
But many gamers plan on playing for "many years", right? "When and if this happens, then of course we will be providing a service to exchange these items."
So Sony recognizes the issue, and is downplaying the likelihood of it occuring, however, they didn't necessairly say the exchange service would be entirely free...
