Final Fantasy XII Becomes A Reality

Today, October 31st, Square-Enix continues its long spanning sequels (that aren't really sequels) of sagas with Final Fantasy XII for the PS2. The much anticipated FFXII comes almost three years afterFinal Fantasy XI, the bewildering online-only that is now also on consoles (Xbox 360, PS2). At the start of the game, players are treated to a somewhat lengthy opening describing the history between two nations: Dalmasca and the Archadian Empire from which certain characters derive. Judging from the opening sequence of events it definitely looks like Square is trying to convey a much darker tone in its use of storytelling.

A special Collector's Edition of Square-Enix title can be picked up at mostGamestop/EB Games locations for $59.99 (call beforehand to confirm, though). The set comes inside of a nice looking tin case, which houses two discs. The first is FFXII and the second is a bonus disc containing four features: Interviews, Art Gallery, History of Final Fantasy Featurettes and U.S. and Japanese Trailers.
