Say Goodbye to Your Paycheck
Retail outlets in the U.S. such as Best Buy and EB Games have now begun taking pre-order requests for games and other peripherals for the latests next-generation gaming systems: PS3 and Nintendo's Wii. Individual sections for the next generation consoles are all up, indicating new release dates (Smash Bros. by the end of the year!) and best sellers (I suppose 'best pre-orders' would be a more accurate term). Although, pre-ordering the consoles themselves are still not ready (as indicated by the email signup still present for each system), more than 88 titles and other items for Nintendo's Wii and the PS3 are ready to pre-order.
Interestingly enough there are already price discrepancies between retailers. For example, at least two popular Nintendo franchises (Super Smash Bros. and Super Mario Galaxy) are set to sell at a somewhat high $59.99, according to www.ebgames. However, retail giant Best Buy lists both of these titles at a mere $49.99. Will EB Games be the only retailer limited to such high pricing? More to come in the future as it unfolds.
