Japanese Developers: High Expectations for Wii

According to IGN, Famitsu has released the results of a recent survey taken by 58 "hands-on" (rather than top level managment) developers for 19 Japanese game companies. Ready for some numbers crunching?

Expectations:
For each system, developers could choose whether they had extremely high expectations, high expectations, or weren't expecting much. For viewing convenience I will break it down categorically by ratings, rather than system (which is how it was asked).

Extremely High:
PS3: 48%
Xbox360:13%
Wii: 63%

High:
PS3: 32%
Xbox360: 40%
Wii: 36%

Not Expecting Much:
PS3: 18%
Xbox360: 45%
Wii: 1%

Console for which you want to develop most:
Ps3: 32%
Xbox360: 5%
Wii: 63%

Console which you want most:
PS3: 42%
Xbox360: 9%
Wii: 49%

Who will win the "console wars"?
In head to head competition, the Japanese developers chose the following console to have the most success:

PS3: 37%
Xbox360: 3%
Wii: 60%

The most anticipated PS3 game was Metal Gear Solid 4, Blue Dragon being the most anticipated for Xb0x360, while the Wii's game generating the most anticipation was Zelda. No big surprises here.

Developers favorite feature about the PS3 was the graphic capability, online capability for the Xbox360, and the controller (or wiimote) for the Wii.

For those of you who don't do well with numbers, Microsoft got rocked, while Wii came out on top, with PS3 in the middle, but closer to the top than bottom. I would break down these numbers to tell you which are statistically significant, but I just took my stats test and hour ago and I have no desire to do any more of that crap. So much for Steve Ballmer's "Developers Developers Developers" rant from a few years back, as Microsoft is thus far not pleasing Japanese developers. However, it is important to keep in mind that US developers will not necessairly respond in the same way their Japanese counterparts did.
