PS3 Price Drop-Already
On Thursday, we told you how much Sony plans individual games to cost, now Sony has announced it will cut price from 59,800 yen to 47,600 yen (roughly $515 to $410) on its base system. The projected price for the premium version has not been released. We'll keep you updated on both the premium version's projected price, and the official US price of each (which will be a more round number than $410).
This announcement puts a dent in the "Wii60" strategy (buying a 360 and Wii for a price comparable to a PS3). But given the fact that many said Sony was already selling the console at a loss, this development will mean they will lose even more on a per unit sold basis.
